Ola to setup it’s Advanced Technology Centre in the Bay Area

Ola, one of the world’s largest ride-hailing platforms, announced its plans to set up a first of its kind Advanced Technology Centre in San Francisco Bay. Ola looks to build a team of over 150 engineers working out of this centre on developing next-generation technologies in mobility. The move is a part of the company’s global initiatives to further drive mobility-led transformation to billions across the world.

Volkswagen introduces new software unit

Volkswagen AG intends to group more than 5,000 digital experts together in its new “Car.Software” unit with Group responsibility for software in the vehicle by 2025. The company plans to develop significantly more software in the car and for vehicle-related services itself and to boost the in-house share of software development from the current figure of less than 10% to at least 60% by 2025.

At the Mobile World Congress which was held last February in Barcelona, Seat informed that it would be the lead brand in the Volkswagen Group’s urban micromobility strategy. In this sense, the company consolidated its commitment to last-mile electric mobility by announcing the partnership agreement with electric kicksharing start-up UFO, through XMOBA with the new Seat eXS powered by Segway.
